Angie Maxey is a school administrator who believes in a balanced approach to academic achievement that pairs quality data monitoring and caring, sustained relationships.
A graduate of the University of Houston and the University of St. Thomas, Angie has roots in Houston and is invested in the success of students in the community. She began her career in education as a math teacher of a charter high school on Houston’s North side. A commitment to serving Houston’s at-risk population led her to the role of Academic Achievement Specialist where she has supported the transformation of teacher teams by introducing data-driven goal setting and monitoring systems without forgetting the importance of getting to know our diverse learners beyond the data.
Angie leads educators in professional development sessions for her district, as a consultant, and at state conferences including the Texas Assessment Conference and the CTC Academy for the Texas Statewide Network for Assessment Professionals.
Aside from her professional life, Angie is a wife of a dedicated educator and the mother of two active toddlers. She is a Pan-American medalist in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and an enthusiast of all things DIY.
